The Yarn of the Month for April is Rowan's Summer Tweed. Combining the luxury of silk (70%) with the durability of cotton (30%), this is a perfect all year round yarn. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! KNITTING SISTERS 2ND ANNUAL YARN SWAP IS COMING! Sunday, March 22, from 2:00-4:00pm. You will want to be here at 2:00 for the best swapping selection. The idea is that you take a look through your stash of yarns at home, (or for some in that rented storage unit required for your passion!), and pull out anything that your heart no longer goes pitter-patter for and bring it along to trade with someone who has done the same. To give you some ideas, (along with yarn), folks can bring books, patterns, knitting accessories, generally anything knitting related. The event will be both FUN and a FUNDRAISER. A $5.00 donation at the door will go to support of the Mattaponi Healing Eagle Clinic, in King William County, Va. We welcome RSVPs, but they are not required.!

The Yarn of the Month for February is Berroco's Ultra Alpaca. Ultra Alpaca is a beautiful blend of alpaca and soft wool spun up perfectly round and light. The Yarns of the Month for January are Colinette Isis and Colinette Giotto. We are big fans of Colinette yarns, and Isis and Giotto are two of our favorites! Each is stunning when knit on its own, and they make an especially beautiful combination knit. Isis is a gorgeous viscose chenille that is soft and luxurious. It knits at 2.5 stitches to the inch on a US 10. Each 100 gram skein has 108 yards. Giotto is a ribbon yarn with character; it is made of 50% Cotton, 40% Rayon, and 10% Nylon , and knits at 2.75 stitches per inch on a US 11 needle. Each 100 gram skein contains 156 yards.
